Antique Advertising - French Bruno Court Perfumery Salesman's Sample Box / Kit
Circa 1930
An extremely rare mid to early 20th century travelling salesman's sample bag from the French Bruno Court Perfumery.
This most amazing item would have been taken around to potential clients for them to sample the new perfumes made at Bruno Court.
The case with leather handle would be carried around from shop to shop under lock & key in an attempt to wow companies to buy their inventions.
Inside the bag are 60 miniature glass sample bottles all with different labelled & numbered stocked fragrances.
The Bruno Court perfumery was established in Grasse, France, in 1812, making it one of the older Grasse establishments that survived on into the 20th Century. Bruno Court was involved in both the production of essential oils and in producing a range of fragrances. The success of Bruno Court was based on the abundance of flowers harvested in the Grasse region of France and the company's ability to produce essential oils from them, largely through steam distillation. In 1964, Bruno Court was acquired by Mane and ceased to exist as an independent company.
A great collectable item.
